What is Illinx?

On his lifelong path of personal development, our founder Devin O'Brien was reading a book by the legend Bob Proctor. The book was the ABCs of Success. In Proctor's book he describes the law of attraction and how what we think about is what we attract into our lives. He discusses our ways of thinking and how we need to program our minds for prosperity and abundance. He was talking about creating a shift in your paradigm in order to change your mindset. He said we need to create an "Illinx" as a way to assist this change. The word stuck out on the page to our founder and became an inspirational word to spark a positive change.  The word is pronounced [ILL - LYNX]. It means to create a disruption of perception in a positive way. In other words it means to create a new positive way of thinking through something we read, see, hear, experience, or feel. 

The idea for Illinx as a positive brand sat for a few years. As Devin continued his path of personal development he noticed his life improving more and more. He has gone vegan, got completely sober, runs a construction company, built amazing relationships, and works on his mental and physical health daily. He knows the work is never done and all it takes is a lack of a positive mindset to mess it all up. This was the main challenge he noticed in his and other's lives. We all have negative thoughts and no one is perfect but if we can get be the illinx and disrupt negativity it will be life changing for everyone. We believe all good things start with having a positive attitude. Having reminders around you all the time helps keep a positive perspective. We believe that clothing is a great way to channel positivity. This is why we created Illinx. People who wear Illinx are displaying their own journey of personal improvement, inspiring themselves and others, and showing the world that being positive is cool!
